Chics and Salsa

1.  Elf contouring blush and bronzer:  I love using this to contour.  It is extremely pigmented, but blend, blend, blend!!  The blush is a little meh.  I only use it when I forget all of my other blushes.
2.  Makeup Forever HD powder:  I love this.  I don't use it every day, though.  It is very expensive special occasion stuff, so I use the Milani Multitasker Face Powder.  On good skin days, I just forgo my foundation and use the Milani Multitasker on its own.  I love this stuff.
3.  Tarte blush:  I love this blush, but I have since found an alternative.  Basically, any wet and wild blush will work.  They are super pigmented and super cheap.  An excellent alternative.
4.  Bare Minerals foundation brushes
5.  Revlon lip butters:  I think there are enough reviews for these online.  They are super moisturizing and add just a little hint of color.
6.  Eyeko maskara:  Holy Grail mascara!!  It does not budge all day.  It makes my eyelashes look super long, curved, and gorgeous!
7.  Wet and Wild MegaLiner:  This is my favorite liquid eyeliner.  I hated that by the end of the day the center of my eye never had any eyeliner left, so for a long time, I just used pencil eyeliner.  Then, I found this.  This stuff will not move all day.  Not one touch up is necessary, even sweating in the heat.
8.  Makeup Forever HD foundation:  Best.  Foundation.  Ever.
9.  Makeup forever HD primer:  It does not break me out and leaves a super smooth finish.  I only use it on special occasions, though.
10.  Redken 10 Guts:  This stuff makes me look like I have so much more hair than I do.  It gives me incredible volume.  Maybe later I will show you guys what it does.  It is a miracle worker..

A lot of people meet my biggest dog and fall in love with her.  I can't blame them.  She is 1000x better than anyone else's dog.  My little Ducky on the other hand...sigh....not all children are created equal I guess...

Now,  I frequently get questions about how I travel with such a large dog, especially when I am known to take large furniture with me, such as the ikea expedit we took on a six hour drive to South Texas a couple of weeks ago.  In her own words, let me show you a little of what that drive is like for Maya...

Before the trip begins, it is really important to learn which bag is your owner's travel bag.  As soon as you see this, refuse to move from the door or you will be left behind on this super fun trip.

Clearly comfort is a priority for us when traveling.

Of special importance is having enough space to rest comfortably in a tiny car next to moving pieces of wood while some little crazy woman navigates wildly through I-35...

It is important to remember that a shoulder pillow makes for well rested naps.

When in doubt make use of the structures around you.  The first class traveling experience can only be enhanced if you fully take advantage of every surface of the car...

Above all else it is necessary to embark on every journey with the fiery passion of one Mr. Tim Gunn.  Just make it work people!

Disclaimer:  my dog loves to travel and is rewarded with her own McDonalds burger, no mustard or pickles.

I am such a sucker for romantic films...no doubt I will be seeing several this weekend while crying and hugging an awkward friend/family member.  This is how relationships grow people.

I am working today and doing research so my TGIF celebration will have to wait until 5 pm.  I have some sunscreen and a large hat waiting for me as I will be living vicariously by the pool this weekend.  If you see a small woman with a hat that almost tips her over with white sunscreen on her nose, don't be shy, give me a holler!  Tomorrow, I will be hitting the trails with my precious Maya Papaya.  Thank God for big dogs who can carry large backpacks filled with ice and water...

I will also be finishing off the chicken coop this weekend.  Yes, I have had the poor chickens for about three months.  No, they have not had shelter but they have had a rather spiffy cardboard box to nest in at night....please don't take them away from me....Off to organize my supplies I go!  Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

I sincerely apologize for disappearing.  I honestly loved my little creative space but , as always, life got in the way.  I finished leveling off my degree and got a new job that I love, have a winderful nurturing boss, AND it pays well.  I know it's tacky to mention money but in the grand scheme of life it's a pretty important factor.  More importantly, I get to wear yoga capris every day at work.  Did I mention this was my dream job??

Also this happened:

-Sushi birthday dinner-

Yep.  I am 26 now.  I can no longer check of the box that says 18-25.  I can't say that I am all that wiser but I definitely won't be taking any afternoon naps anymore.  As you get older time seems to pass you by faster since a year of your life is a smaller and smaller fraction of it.  I don't have any more time to lose!

I have also realized that its time  to stop saying "when I grow up...".  The lady in the mirror is a grown up now, and I have the early onset of wrinkles to prove it....stand back gravity!!  I am not going down without a fight!!

As part of my new embrace of adulthood,  I realized I was feeling maternal urges, so it was only natural to want to raise some children of my own...

Yep.  This happened.  I was totally kidding about the maternal urges, though.  The spiders and I were raging a war in the backyard that I was losing until I brought in reinforcements.  It is just a coincidence that they all have names..McCluckin, Henrietta, Mustacchio, and C.R....

As part of my return to blogging I am afraid I will be mostly posting pictures from my phone.  I hope you guys don't mind,  but I really don't have a lot of time now with all my hardcore partying and work and stuff...FINE.  If you really must know editing pictures for hours infringes upon my returning shows... Game of thrones anyone?

Gosh, I always wanted a dresser like this.  I always dreamed of having one in a light pink bedroom with huge silk curtains...and I guess I will keep dreaming because even though I purchased this dresser for thirty dollars, I did not have a use for it.  My little sister jumped on it like  it was hot.  This makeover ensued....

{Before}
I forgot to take an actual picture, but it looked roughly like this with about 20 years of dirt on it.
